1.) Setting of the Pump

  1. The pump may be set with or without the tool attached.
  2. Loosen the lock nut beneath the relief valve knob.
  3. Turn the pressure setting knob counter clockwise, loosening it all the way.
  4. Turn the pump on and press the remote control button, holding it down while setting the pump.
  5. Turn the pressure setting knob clockwise until the pressure reaches the desired pressure as shown on torque chart in rear of this manual.
  6. Lock the lock nut to prevent change in P.S.I.

2.) Operating the Tool

  1. Attach the dual hoses to both pump and tool.
  2. Turn pump on, depress remote control button. This should extend the tool. The tool should retract when the button is released.
  3. Proceed to torquing nuts by cycling the tool until the cylinder stalls out to the set P.S.I. for torque value.DO NOT SHORT STROKE CYLINDER.
***NOTE:SHORT STROKE MEANS NOT LETTINGCYLINDER COMPLETELY RETRACT BEFORE EXTENSION BUTTON IS PRESSED AGAIN.****
  4. For break out, set the pump to 10,000 P.S.I.
    NOTE:DO NOT EXCEED 10,000 P.S.I.!

Helpful Hints during Use

  1. If the tool will not extend or retract, check the couplings to make sure they are tight (no leaks).
  2. If the tool is erratic in its cycle, check the oil level in the pump.
  3. Hold the rear of the body up parallel to the flange so as to engage as much of the nut as possible.
  4. Do not leave the pump running except during the operation of the tool.
  5. Make sure the oiler on the pump is full of oil and feeding at the specified rate on all air pumps.
  6. Do not allow more than 100 P.S.I. or a minimum of 60 P.S.I. air through the regulator on all air pumps.
  7. Use a minimum of a 20 AMP extension cord on electric hydraulic pumps.
